We have gourds ranging in size from small (less than 2" dia.) to large (12+" dia). Each gourd has a unique shape, one-of-a-kind natural markings. It will become what the artist visualizes for that particular piece. The design is sketched, pyrographed, and/or carved into gourd. Usually, oil based stains or artist acrylics are hand mixed and layered to achieve the coloring needed for each design. Once completely dry, an appropriate sealer is applied. There may be several gourds with the same theme, but no two are ever exactly alike. Each piece of gourd art shown here is one-of-a-kind.

A SPECIAL HONOR
It was a special honor for me to create and donate the two pieces of gourd art shown on the right. They were presented at the 4th Infantry Division, D Co., 3/12th Reunion held in Omaha, NE, August 9-11, 2007.
"Pages in Time" was designed to honor the men of D Co., 3/12th who served together in Vietnam between 1967-1970. It features the 4th ID logo and motto with paintings on either side depicting life in Vietnam during the era the men of D Co. were there.
"Hummingbirds" was designed to honor the women who waited until they came home.
Thanks to all of you for your service then and for your continuing loyalty and patriotism today. A special thank you for allowing me to be a part of your special time together.
