KudzuKorner.com began as a way to share just one of our family traditions, but has grown to become much more: Mom, Rubye Tennyson Simpson Yopp, was a world recognized poet and columnist. She did a little painting too, but only one of her originals has been found. And, she played the piano beautifully. Both aunts were fine artists and writers too. Growing up was always an adventure. We didn't have lots of money, but we had lots of love and a Mom who was determined that we would not miss opportunities to appreciate the arts. Music, fine art, poetry, and great books were just a part of our lives. We simply inherited our love for the arts and a buring desire to be creative. Now, we find that we have passed our passion to our children and their families.

Award winning artist Jackie Thrasher-Smith has been creating art in oils, pastels & graphite for over 30 years and often uses her photographs as the model for her work. She studied in West Texas and later in West Tennessee where she still lives. Jackie began creating Gourd Art several years ago. Each gourd design is one-of-a-kind, both decorative and functional. Jackie's art is in private and public collections across the United States.
James is a disabled veteran who enjoys gardening -- thus the continuing gourd supply (if Mother Nature cooperates). He plants and tends the garden sitting on an adapted, small riding mower. With that and a five gallon bucket, wonders are achieved in his gardens.
